Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification as a School Counselor or eligibility to obtain one
  • Masters degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field
  • Experience in individual and group counseling with elementary, middle, or high school students
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of behavioral intervention strategies and socio-emotional learning frameworks
  • Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish trust with students and staff

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling services to students, addressing academic, personal, and social development needs
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions on topics such as coping skills, conflict resolution, and goal setting
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
  • Perform crisis intervention and develop student support plans as needed
  • Implement prevention and intervention programs for at-risk students
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress in accordance with district and legal guidelines
  • Facilitate referrals to community resources when necessary
