Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students growth as a school counselor in a welcoming learning environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide academic, career, and social-emotional counseling in a school dedicated to nurturing every childs potential. Youll work full-time, 37.5 hours each week, with the assignment running through late May 2027.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Completion of a state-approved counselor preparation program.
• Eligibility for the required Virginia school counselor license or endorsement.
• Understanding of elementary age student needs and effective counseling strategies.
• Strong communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct academic, social-emotional, and career counseling to elementary students.
• Assess student concerns, collaborate with school staff, and consult with families as needed.
• Maintain accurate, confidential student records and support appropriate referrals for services.
• Monitor and promote students progress in school adjustment and well-being.
• Proactively participate in school meetings and interdisciplinary teams.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe atmosphere for all students.
