Job Description

As a school counselor, your expertise in working with children and adolescents will be central to fostering a positive, inclusive educational environment. Youll collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to address challenges, support student goals, and facilitate access to resources.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a school counselor
  • Degree in school counseling, counseling, psychology, or related field
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting is highly valued
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school personnel
  • Knowledge of counseling best practices, crisis intervention, and student support services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling for students on academic, social, behavioral, and emotional issues
  • Develop and implement prevention and intervention programs to support student wellness and achievement
  • Collaborate with faculty and families to identify and address student needs
  • Assist students with academic planning and goal setting
  • Respond to crisis situations and provide guidance or referrals as appropriate
  • Maintain confidential records and documentation according to school and district guidelines
  • Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
