Job Description
Make a positive impact as a school counselor working onsite with K-12 students during an extended leave coverage this upcoming fall. In this full-time contract opportunity, youll collaborate with educators and staff, supporting a manageable caseload of 75-85 students and participating in important behavioral threat assessments. This dynamic setting will allow you to apply your professional expertise across diverse grade levels, providing vital social, emotional, and behavioral support over the course of the fall semester.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- Active Texas School Counselor Certificate from SBEC, which may be LPC, LCSW, LP, or LSSP
- Demonstrated experience supporting K-12 students in a school environment
- Skilled in behavioral threat assessment and crisis intervention
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
- Ready to work onsite, full time from August 3, 2026, through December 18, 2026
Role Responsibilities:
- Offer direct counseling support for students across grade levels (K-12)
- Complete behavioral threat assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to address students academic and emotional needs
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student well-being, coping skills, and school engagement
- Maintain documentation and confidentiality in accordance with district and state policies
- Adapt counseling practices to meet diverse student needs within the caseload
