Key Qualifications:

• Valid school counseling certification or appropriate licensure
• Previous experience working as a counselor in a school environment strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of child and adolescent development, individual and group counseling methods, and crisis intervention strategies
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Compassion, patience, and a collaborative approach to working with students, faculty, and families
• Ability to effectively manage a diverse caseload and handle confidential situations with sensitivity

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling services to students individually and in groups, supporting academic, career, and personal/social development goals
• Conduct assessments and provide crisis intervention to address urgent student needs
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to design plans promoting student mental health and positive behavior
• Develop and deliver programs on topics such as conflict resolution, coping strategies, and college/career readiness
• Maintain accurate records, adhering to ethical and legal guidelines for confidentiality and reporting
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
