• Active and valid counseling certification/licensure in the state
• Prior experience working as a counselor in a school setting (preferred)
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent development

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and relevant counseling techniques

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluate students academic, social, and emotional needs through observation, consultation, and assessments
• Develop and implement short- and long-term counseling plans based on individual student needs
• Offer individual and group counseling sessions to foster resilience, self-esteem, and emotional well-being
• Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to address barriers to learning and ensure students success
• Support classroom programming relating to career exploration, bullying prevention, and social-emotional learning
• Respond promptly to crisis situations, providing guidance and resources as needed
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all district and legal guidelines
