Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Masters degree in School Counseling or related field required
- Valid state school counselor certification
- Previous experience working as a school counselor in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and students
- Deep understanding of academic, behavioral, and emotional support strategies
- Compassion, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions supporting students social, emotional, and academic development
- Develop and implement programs to promote positive student behavior and well-being
- Collaborate with school staff and families to identify challenges and create action plans
- Address crisis situations, providing immediate support and referrals as needed
- Assist students in goal setting, decision-making, and planning for future education or careers
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with ethical and legal standards
- Participate in student support teams and school-wide initiatives
