Job Description

Step into a contract role supporting a vibrant, diverse PreK8 school community located near Boston, MA. As an Adjustment Counselor, you'll play a critical part in fostering the social, emotional, and academic development of students. This full-time position offers 35 hours per week, with flexible start and end times between 7 AM and 5 PM depending on school needs. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs for a minimum of 8 weeks, with potential to extend.

Ideal candidates will bring a compassionate, student-centered approach to their work, contributing to an inclusive environment where every child is valued. Youll collaborate with educators and families to ensure students have the support and resources necessary to thrive.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Massachusetts Adjustment Counselor credential required
  • Experience in school-based counseling, psychology, or related fields
  • Background working with PreK8th grade students preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized and group support plans
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and crisis management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling for students in grades PreK8
  • Support students social, emotional, and behavioral growth through targeted interventions
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify and address student needs
  • Participate in team meetings, contribute to IEP/504 plans, and document progress
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing school climate by promoting positive behaviors and inclusivity
