Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid school counseling certification or license (state-specific)
- Masters degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students, families, and staff
- Ability to approach sensitive topics with empathy and confidentiality
- Organizational abilities to manage caseloads, documentation, and plans efficiently
- Familiarity with developing and implementing intervention plans and crisis management
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to address students academic, career, and social-emotional needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student development and well-being
- Develop and deliver classroom guidance lessons aligned with current needs and trends
- Respond to student crises, providing support and referring to community resources as needed
- Assist with developing individualized education plans (IEPs) or 504 plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with professional and legal requirements
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful school environment for all students
