Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold a valid counselor certification or license applicable to the states requirements
- Masters degree in Counseling, School Counseling, or a closely related field
- Previous experience in a school or educational environment strongly preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to student well-being, confidentiality, and ethical practice
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop individualized support plans
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students with a range of academic, social, and emotional needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to foster a supportive school environment
- Develop and implement programs that promote positive student behavior and mental health
- Respond to crises and offer resources or referrals for students facing critical challenges
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with legal and district guidelines
- Conduct assessments to identify student strengths and areas for support
- Advocate for student success both in and out of the classroom
