Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in School Counseling or closely related field
  • Current state certification or licensure as a school counselor
  • Prior experience as a counselor in a K-12 school setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse students and faculty
  • Commitment to ethical and culturally responsive counseling practices

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, career, and personal/social development
  • Develop and implement prevention and intervention programs for student well-being
  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success
  • Create action plans for students experiencing academic or behavioral challenges
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school climate through educational workshops and activities
  • Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
  • Maintain thorough, confidential records and documentation in compliance with school policy and state regulations
