Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid school counselor certification, or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Masters degree in counseling, school counseling, or related field
  • Previous experience in a K-12 school setting preferred
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and providing guidance
  • Proficient in developing and implementing individualized support plans

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling services to students individually and in groups to address academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies for student success
  • Conduct assessments and create actionable intervention plans
  • Respond to crisis situations and refer students to outside resources as needed
  • Promote awareness of mental health, anti-bullying, and positive behavioral initiatives
  • Maintain accurate, confidential student records in compliance with district policies
  • Facilitate and participate in student support meetings and professional development
