Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state credential as a school or guidance counselor
- Previous experience supporting high school (9-12th grade) students strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of adolescent development, academic planning, and post-secondary options
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrative staff
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling to support students academic, social, and emotional well-being
- Guide students through course selection, schedule planning, and preparation for graduation requirements
- Assist with college and career readiness activities, including application support and scholarship searches
- Address student concerns related to peer relationships, family issues, and mental health
- Collaborate with educators and parents to develop intervention plans and support student growth
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with school and legal guidelines
