Job Description

Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students throughout an entire district as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This full-time, contract role is designed to provide essential occupational therapy services across Pre-K through 12th grade, ensuring continuity of care while covering an FMLA leave for approximately 12 weeks. The assignment begins with the first day of school on August 27, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

In this district-wide position, youll collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary educational teams. Your days will be filled providing hands-on therapy, implementing treatment plans developed by OTs, and making a difference for students of varying ages and needs. Flexible scheduling amounts to approximately 7 to 7.5 hours daily, with exact details finalized by the district.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and active COTA license/certification (CT DPH License and NBCOT Exam required)
  • Experience working in a school-based setting is preferred
  • Comfortable supporting students from early childhood through high school
  • Experience with diverse disability populations is advantageous
  • Reliable transportation is necessary for travel between campuses within the district

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions under supervision of an OT
  • Carry out documented treatment plans and adapt strategies as appropriate
  • Monitor and record student progress toward individual goals
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, OTs, and other team members
  • Foster supportive, productive relationships with students and families
