Qualifications & Background:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and goal setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
- Ability to adapt strategies to individual student needs
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage a flexible caseload
- Familiarity with assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and relevant technology considered a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy interventions to students based on their individual education plans
- Collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists, teachers, and support staff to implement strategies that foster students physical, social, and academic development
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insightful reports on student progress
- Document all therapy sessions and maintain thorough and timely records
- Support classroom modifications and recommend adaptive tools or activities
- Deliver education and guidance to teachers and families to empower them in supporting students needs
- Adjust plans and interventions based on ongoing assessment and feedback
