Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Active state licensure (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Organizational skills and time management to manage caseload effectively

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the supervising Occupational Therapist in delivering tailored treatment plans for students
  • Implement direct therapy interventions to support fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily functional tasks
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure consistency of therapeutic strategies
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and district guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings when appropriate and contribute insights regarding student progress
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all students
