Bring your skills as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to a thriving educational environment this fall! A well-established district near Torrington, CT, seeks a dedicated COTA to support students from Pre-K through 12th grade. This full-time, contract role covers a 12-week FMLA leave, with the potential to extend, offering you the chance to make a genuine difference across the district.
Youll work each school day, providing essential occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. From helping students reach developmental milestones to collaborating with multidisciplinary educational teams, your impact will be felt throughout the district.
What Were Looking For:
- Valid COTA license/certification (CT DPH and NBCOT exam passed)
- Some school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Reliable transportation for district-wide assignments
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Comfortable serving diverse age groups and needs (Pre-K12)
- Ability to document progress and follow therapy plans with attention to detail
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy sessions per IEP and treatment plans
- Support OT in developing and implementing student goals
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress
- Travel between schools within the district as necessary
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and allied professionals
- Foster a supportive, encouraging environment for all students
