- Valid COTA certification and active state licensure
- Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably within a school setting
- Familiarity with implementing treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, students, and parents
- Adaptability and a positive attitude in fast-paced educational environments
- Commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethical standards
Primary responsibilities:
- Carry out customized occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Assist students in developing fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills within classroom settings
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and provide updates to the therapy team
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support inclusion for students with diverse needs and adapt activities for maximum engagement and participation
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to foster a supportive school climate
