An excellent opportunity is available for a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide essential support in a school setting located in Shelby, MI. This contract role focuses on delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to students, promoting their physical, cognitive, and sensory development to enhance their educational experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing individualized therapy plans designed by occupational therapists to support students with diverse needs.
- Assisting in assessing students abilities, progress, and needs related to occupational therapy.
- Collaborating with educators, therapists, and parents to create supportive learning environments.
- Maintaining detailed documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and communication with the team.
Qualifications and experience sought:
- Valid COTA licensure for the state of Michigan.
- Experience providing occupational therapy in school environments is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with children and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet individual student needs.
