Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Current state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in school-based settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Compassion and patience working with children of varying abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning and delivering therapy interventions to students
- Implement activities to support fine and gross motor skills development
- Document and report on student progress according to school and regulatory guidelines
- Support classroom modifications and adaptive strategies to increase student engagement
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed
