This full-time, contract opportunity in Scottsdale, AZ, offers a dynamic role supporting K-8 students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a school setting. You will play an essential role in providing therapy treatment sessions and therapeutic support designed to enhance students' participation and success in both the classroom and school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering occupational therapy treatments tailored to individual student needs across a K-8 caseload.
- Serving as a valuable resource to teachers and educational staff by collaborating on strategies and accommodations.
- Providing and managing equipment and assistive technology to facilitate therapy sessions and classroom involvement.
- Monitoring and recognizing individual differences in student responses to therapy, adjusting services accordingly to maximize progress.
- Assisting with data collection to track student outcomes and therapy efficacy.
- Traveling between assigned school sites to carry out therapeutic duties.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Current and valid COTA license.
- Experience working with children in school settings, preferably within K-8 grade levels.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment relevant to occupational therapy.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators and school personnel.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt treatment plans to meet individual needs.
