Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Active state license (or eligibility) for California
- Prior experience in school or pediatric settings is highly valued
- Strong communication skills to liaise with educators, therapists, and families
- Compassion, patience, and creativity in facilitating individualized interventions
- Ability to document progress data clearly and accurately
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills required for classroom participation
- Adapt materials and provide strategies to support student access and engagement
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic interventions into the classroom
- Monitor student progress and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist and educational teams
- Maintain detailed records and support compliance with school-based service requirements
