This position is designed for a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) ready to make a positive impact on students lives by addressing functional, academic, and social-emotional needs in collaboration with educators and therapists.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid COTA license in California
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings highly preferred
- Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation
- Strong understanding of therapeutic interventions for a wide range of disabilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability to support multiple school sites or diverse caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR/L
- Work with students facing disabilities such as autism, developmental delays, orthopedic and sensory processing challenges
- Implement therapy goals within classroom and pull-out settings
- Accurately maintain records, session notes, and progress reports
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support integrated learning approaches
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed and contribute to individualized program planning
