Job Description

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Valid state licensure (or eligibility) for California
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach with students of varying abilities
  • Solid organizational and time management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Assist with evaluations and implement individualized treatment plans designed to help students achieve specific IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
  • Deliver direct therapy, support classroom modifications, and utilize appropriate interventions and activities
  • Maintain thorough records of student progress and document sessions in compliance with district and regulatory guidelines
  • Engage with teachers, parents, and staff to support student learning and carry over skills into the classroom setting
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training as needed
