Job Description

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) opportunity is available to provide essential support services within a K-12 educational setting serving students with moderate to severe disabilities. This contract position spans the school year from mid-December to late May and focuses on supporting a diverse caseload throughout multiple schools.

Location: Prairieville, LA (serving schools in Assumption Parish)

Position Details:

  • Duration: December 15, 2025 May 22, 2026
  • Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours
  • Setting: K-12 schools with a student population aged 3 to 22 years
  • Caseload: Approximately 71 students with moderate to severe disabilities distributed across 6 schools (5 elementary schools and 1 high school)
  • Services: Direct and indirect occupational therapy support

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Active Louisiana COTA license in good standing
  • Experience working with children and young adults with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload within a school environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to individual student goals
  • Assess student needs and document progress accurately
  • Develop and implement therapeutic interventions within the school setting
  • Provide indirect services as applicable
  • Maintain compliance with school and state regulations
