As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), youll deliver essential direct services, collaborate closely with experienced occupational therapists, and contribute to the development and progress of students across multiple school sites.
Qualifications:
- Active NM Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly valued
- Strong documentation and report-writing abilities
- Ability to function independently while thriving as part of an OT team
- Flexibility and adaptability for itinerant services across multiple locations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support the efforts of the OT team, collaborating on strategies, interventions, and program implementation
- Complete timely and accurate reports, documenting student progress and treatment plans
- Travel to various school sites as itinerant staff, ensuring consistent and quality care across locations
- Attend team meetings, share insights, and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment
