Job Description

We are seeking two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to join a supportive school district in the Phoenix area for the 2026-2027 school year. These are full-time positions serving students across PreK-8th grade campuses and working alongside a collaborative special education team.

This is an excellent opportunity for COTAs who enjoy working in school-based settings and supporting students with a variety of developmental, physical, and educational needs. Caseloads are currently being finalized, with one position expected to primarily support preschool-aged students.

Position Details

  • Location: Phoenix, AZ
  • Discipline: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Openings: 2
  • School Year: August 4, 2026 May 21, 2027
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Hours: 37.5-40 hours per week
  • Start Time: Approximately 7:30 AM (Preschool program begins at 7:15 AM)

Caseload & Responsibilities

  • Serve students in PreK through 8th grade
  • Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Support students across a variety of educational settings
  • All caseloads include some students in self-contained classrooms
  • One position is anticipated to focus primarily on preschool students
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and special education staff to support student goals

Caseload Information

  • District utilizes a caseload model
  • Typical caseload range: 60-70 students
  • Caseload includes a mix of:
    • Direct therapy services
    • Consultative services
  • COTAs do not complete evaluations or write evaluation reports

What Were Looking For

  • Active Arizona COTA license (or ability to obtain)
  • School-based or pediatric experience preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Passion for helping students access and succeed in their educational environment
