Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students development as an onsite Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) near Peoria, AZ. You'll work across two schools, engaging with a diverse caseload from kindergarten through 8th grade, focusing on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, Down syndrome, and other unique needs. This role involves conducting evaluations and implementing therapy plans designed for school-aged children, with no COTA supervision required.
Your commitment of 32.5 hours per week ensures meaningful engagement with students while maintaining a manageable workload. As a valued team member, youll work collaboratively in a dynamic school environment, enhancing students educational experiences and making a real difference in their daily lives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Arizona
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
- Ability to effectively manage caseloads spanning kindergarten through eighth grade
- Comfortable evaluating and supporting students with a variety of developmental and intellectual needs
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- District and state-specific certifications, as required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students per their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments and contribute to the development of IEP goals with the educational team
- Deliver therapy sessions that promote student participation and independence within the school setting
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and progress reports
- Liaise with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
