This contract role places you in a collaborative, dynamic educational setting, working alongside experienced therapists and passionate educators to foster student independence, participation, and well-being.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Valid state license or eligibility to obtain
- Previous experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and families
- Creative problem-solving approach and adaptability in meeting diverse student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by an Occupational Therapist
- Support students development of functional skills needed for success at school
- Assist with the preparation and adaptation of instructional materials and equipment
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and parent conferences as needed
- Contribute to a positive classroom environment and promote inclusion
