Make a positive impact in a local school community as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a contract basis. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to support students through hands-on, meaningful interventions while collaborating closely with educators and other related service professionals. Utilize your expertise to promote student success, foster independence, and help children build crucial life skills in an encouraging environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active COTA certification and Kansas state licensure (or eligibility)
- Experience working with pediatric or school-age populations is highly valued
- Strong communication skills and ability to connect with diverse learners
- Collaborative mindset with the flexibility to adapt to evolving caseloads and student needs
- Familiarity with IEP process and documentation requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Work with students both one-on-one and in group settings to support fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skill development
- Monitor and document student progress, contributing insights to multidisciplinary education teams
- Follow individualized plans to help students achieve academic and functional goals
- Assist with equipment and resource management as part of daily therapy sessions
- Communicate progress and challenges to teachers, families, and the overseeing OT
