As a contract COTA, you'll collaborate closely with educators and therapists to deliver occupational therapy services to students, empowering them to participate fully in their learning and daily activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with valid state credentials
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Adaptability and creativity in developing interventions
- Organized approach to caseload management and documentation
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and document progress toward therapy goals
- Support students in developing or enhancing fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
- Participate in team meetings, providing valuable input on student needs and progress
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student success
- Assist with screenings and assessments as needed
