Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required
- Active state licensure, or eligibility to obtain it prior to start
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but strong clinical skills from other backgrounds considered
- Strong communication skills with students, staff, and parents
- Organized, adaptable, and proactive in supporting student needs
- Ability to manage caseload, documentation, and schedule efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to carry out individual and group treatment sessions
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
- Assist with the adaptation of classroom materials to enhance student participation
- Document student progress and contribute to Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings
- Communicate regularly with educators and families regarding strategies and success stories
- Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with school guidelines
