As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a contract role, you will collaborate with passionate therapists, teachers, and staff to deliver vital services that foster students' independence and participation at school.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Washington State (or eligibility)
- Previous experience working in pediatric, educational, or school settings preferred
- Ability to follow treatment plans and collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptable, organized, and patient in a dynamic classroom setting
- Commitment to supporting diverse student needs with professionalism and empathy
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized and group therapy interventions under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist
- Assist in screening and assessing students for occupational therapy needs
- Help students build fine motor, sensory, self-care, and functional skills required for school success
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate data and records
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and other professionals
- Support inclusive, accessible learning experiences aligned with students IEPs and goals
- Contribute to a positive, nurturing school culture
