Key Qualifications:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Illinois required
- Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with students of diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency in implementing therapy activities under the direction of an Occupational Therapist
- Excellent organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist Occupational Therapist in providing evidence-based interventions for students with varying abilities
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) within the classroom and therapy setting
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines
- Monitor and document student progress toward occupational therapy goals
- Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings to discuss student outcomes
- Adapt activities and resources to support individual student needs
