Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Current state licensure (or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations is preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable teaming with teachers, therapists, and families
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet a variety of student needs and learning styles
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students as prescribed by Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Assist with student assessments, documenting progress and noting areas for improvement
- Support students in developing skills for classroom participation, daily routines, and fine and gross motor tasks
- Implement individualized and group intervention sessions tailored to diverse learning abilities
- Collaborate regularly with staff and caregivers to monitor goals and modify support plans as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable observations to the education team
