Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a supportive school-based environment near McConnell AFB, KS. You'll contribute meaningfully to student success by delivering occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, helping children develop the skills needed to thrive both academically and personally.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), with appropriate state licensure
- Familiarity with school-aged populations and educational settings
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for working alongside teachers, therapists, and families
- Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs) or willingness to learn
- A patient, compassionate, and creative approach to therapy
- Ability to organize and document sessions in accordance with school policies
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to students, in alignment with each student's IEP goals
- Support the Occupational Therapist in planning, implementing, and evaluating therapy programs
- Collaborate with educational staff and parents to ensure therapy goals are integrated into classroom activities
- Track progress and keep accurate records in compliance with school district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and other team conferences, sharing insights on student development and therapy needs
