Key Qualifications:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
- Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and adapt interventions in a school environment
- Organizational skills for effective scheduling, planning, and record keeping
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized and group occupational therapy sessions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Assist in evaluating students motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities in classroom and school settings
- Support the development and execution of treatment plans aligned with students educational goals
- Document progress, update records, and contribute meaningful input for IEP meetings
- Educate staff and caregivers on strategies and accommodations to support students success and independence
- Foster a positive, motivating, and inclusive atmosphere for all students
