A fantastic opportunity awaits an enthusiastic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a supportive school setting for the 26/27 academic year beginning in early August. This full-time, contract position is located near Litchfield Park, AZ, and provides the rewarding chance to assist students ranging from PreK to 8th grade. With 40 hours per week over five days, you'll play a vital role in promoting student success through therapeutic interventions within the educational environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Arizona COTA license
- IVP fingerprint clearance card (current and valid)
- Prior experience in school-based OT, pediatric, or healthcare settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Expertise in delivering individualized and group therapy sessions for varied student needs
- Ability to adapt strategies for diverse age groups and learning profiles
Key Responsibilities:
- Support occupational therapy goals under the supervision of an OT
- Deliver therapeutic services tailored to students IEPs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and session notes
- Collaborate regularly with special education teams, teachers, and families
- Contribute to evaluations, planning, and implementation of student care
- Foster an encouraging, inclusive environment to help students reach their maximum potential
