Job Description

Embark on an exciting contract opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting near Lexington, KY. In this dynamic role, youll collaborate with dedicated educators and licensed occupational therapists to ensure a positive and effective learning environment for students requiring OT services. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in helping students develop essential motor and adaptive skills that facilitate their academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

  • Active COTA license in Kentucky, or eligibility to obtain
  • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Experience working with K-12 students preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP documentation and progress monitoring is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills within classroom and therapy settings
  • Assist with classroom modifications and adaptive equipment
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state guidelines
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as required
