Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students across K12 settings by providing essential occupational therapy services in a dynamic school-based environment. In this contract position, you will serve multiple schools throughout Hendry County, supporting a diverse group of young learners and working alongside passionate educational teams. Assignments for the upcoming academic year will be finalized over the summer, with travel expected throughout the county.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of Florida
- Strong adaptability and organization, with willingness to travel to several school sites as assigned
- Previous experience in school environments preferred, but not required
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and students
- Commitment to promoting independence and participation in the school setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and support staff to develop and implement student-focused intervention plans
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Use evidence-based practices to address fine motor, sensory, and functional life skills
- Travel between assigned schools within the county to deliver consistent, high-quality care
