Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Active state license or eligibility to obtain one (if required)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a changing educational environment
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning and implementing individualized and group therapy sessions for students
- Support students in developing fine and gross motor skills necessary for school participation
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to implement therapy recommendations in the classroom
- Contribute to the creation of adaptive strategies and modifications to promote student success
- Engage students in creative, hands-on activities tailored to their needs
