Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in New Mexico (NM)
  • Experience working with K-12 populations, especially in a school environment, is valued
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Preferred: Possession of a New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) license

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to K-12 students as prescribed by IEPs
  • Work in partnership with the supervising Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement treatment plans
  • Document student progress and communicate regularly with the school team and families
  • Adjust and adapt therapeutic activities to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Assist with evaluations and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
