What we're looking for:
- Valid certification as a COTA
- Prior experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting
- Familiarity with IEPs and goal-oriented therapy plans
- Ability to support classroom teachers and collaborate with other specialists
- Flexibility, positive attitude, and strong communication skills
- Current licensure to practice in Alaska, or eligibility to obtain certification
Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans as directed
- Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to address individual therapy goals
- Document session progress and collaborate on updating student records
- Support the therapy team during assessments and in adapting curriculum materials
- Participate in meetings with teachers, parents, and educational staff
- Encourage students to practice skills that support their independence within the school setting
