What we're looking for:

  • Valid certification as a COTA
  • Prior experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting
  • Familiarity with IEPs and goal-oriented therapy plans
  • Ability to support classroom teachers and collaborate with other specialists
  • Flexibility, positive attitude, and strong communication skills
  • Current licensure to practice in Alaska, or eligibility to obtain certification

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans as directed
  • Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to address individual therapy goals
  • Document session progress and collaborate on updating student records
  • Support the therapy team during assessments and in adapting curriculum materials
  • Participate in meetings with teachers, parents, and educational staff
  • Encourage students to practice skills that support their independence within the school setting
