Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Valid state license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience working with children or in a school environment preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and student needs
- Organizational skills for managing documentation and schedules
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering therapy to students as directed in their individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Implement treatment plans and activities designed to improve students functional abilities in the classroom
- Monitor, document, and report student progress
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support integration of therapeutic strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Participate in meetings regarding student goals and progress as needed
