Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Valid state license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience working with children or in a school environment preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and student needs
  • Organizational skills for managing documentation and schedules

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering therapy to students as directed in their individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Implement treatment plans and activities designed to improve students functional abilities in the classroom
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support integration of therapeutic strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Participate in meetings regarding student goals and progress as needed
