Job Description

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current COTA certification and Alaska state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Familiarity with school-based therapy practices and IEP process
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other therapists
  • Compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic about supporting students with diverse needs

Responsibilities:

  • Implement treatment plans designed by supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to address student goals related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive functioning
  • Assist with evaluations and documentation in accordance with district and state requirements
  • Contribute to IEP meetings, progress reports, and interdisciplinary discussions
  • Employ creative approaches to meet students where they are and facilitate their success in the classroom setting
