Step into a rewarding position supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a school-based environment. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current COTA certification and Alaska state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Familiarity with school-based therapy practices and IEP process
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other therapists
- Compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic about supporting students with diverse needs
Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans designed by supervising Occupational Therapist
- Work one-on-one or in small groups to address student goals related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive functioning
- Assist with evaluations and documentation in accordance with district and state requirements
- Contribute to IEP meetings, progress reports, and interdisciplinary discussions
- Employ creative approaches to meet students where they are and facilitate their success in the classroom setting
