Contribute your expertise and passion for occupational therapy in a dynamic school environment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active licensure as a COTA in the state
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting highly preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to adapt interventions and activities for different learning styles and developmental levels
- Familiarity with IEP documentation and participation in student support meetings is a plus
- Up-to-date CPR certification and the ability to pass required background screenings
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, following individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Document and track student progress and participation
- Prepare and organize adaptive equipment and materials for therapy sessions
- Support students in developing fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care routines
- Participate in meetings with school staff and families to discuss progress and update goals
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all students
