Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Valid Michigan state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
• Prior experience working with children or within school systems preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families
• Flexibility to adapt lessons and interventions for a diverse student population
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Support occupational therapy plans developed by a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Implement activities to improve fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills within the school environment
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records according to school policies
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate strategies into classroom routines
• Adapt materials and modify tasks as needed to ensure accessibility
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development when required
• Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for students with a variety of needs
