Step into a dynamic role where your skills as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) make a direct impact on students lives. This on-site contract position offers the chance to work across two schools, supporting children from kindergarten through eighth grade. Youll play a vital role in helping students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, and Down syndrome, empowering them to thrive in their learning environments.
Youll engage with diverse caseloads and participate in evaluations that shape individualized education plans all while enjoying a manageable schedule of 32.5 hours per week, ensuring a sustainable work-life balance. Theres no supervision of other COTAs involved, allowing you to focus on direct student interaction.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and active Arizona COTA license is required
- Previous school-based experience preferred, especially with K-8 or special populations (Autism, DD, Down syndrome)
- Familiarity with school-age evaluation processes and documentation standards
- Flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to meet any additional state, district, or special requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments, help write goals, and participate in team meetings
- Provide interventions that foster academic and functional success
- Document progress and collaborate with teachers, families, and other specialists
