Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in school settings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Comfortable using adaptive equipment and tools for therapy sessions
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement occupational therapy interventions in accordance with IEP goals under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Provide direct support to students, helping them develop fine motor, sensory, and functional life skills
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy strategies into classroom routines
- Document student progress, maintain therapy records, and contribute insights for IEP meetings
- Assist with adapting classroom materials and environments to student needs
