Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
- Eligibility to work as a COTA in Alaska
- Previous experience in pediatric, school-based, or educational settings preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and families
- Compassionate, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to working with children of varying needs
Responsibilities:
- Carry out therapeutic activities and treatment plans as directed by an Occupational Therapist
- Assist students in developing fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills for school participation
- Monitor and document students progress, regularly updating the therapy team and educators
- Support classroom adaptation and environmental modifications
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed
- Engage with staff and parents to foster teamwork and student success
